| This is great to
start up your filter. |

NEW WATER BIO New Water Bio is a group
of water purification bacteria. 1 grain contains about "20
billion" bacteria and its food together. The best part is
that this product uses types of bacteria that can live even at
as low water temperature as 41 F. Use NEW WATER BIO to start
your pond troublefree this Spring. Made in Japan |

troublefree |
ProForm-C This is a specially
formulated malachite green and formalin mix. This is a
great product.I am personally a big fan. We microscope new
shipment every week. Since I have used this product for my new
shipments from Japan, they become cleaner than ever. This
product not only works very effectively but also verygentle.
Because of the special formulation, you do not have to bypass
the filter. You can even use it every day if you change water
25%. (We used to bypass the filter and also have at least 2-3
days apart every treatment.) As water temperature gets
warmer, all the disease causing parasites will get active. To
protect your Koi from theirattack, I recommend you begin your
pond with PROFORMA C. |

| Myself in
snow | In early March, I visited Mr.
Sakai at Yamamatsu Koi Farm. He is more known as "Matsunosuke"
because of his high quality Taisho Sanke. Because his Koi are on our
site at http://www.japankoionline.com/, I am sure you are familiar
with him.
It was such a beautiful day. I did not even need a
jacket. But still, Niigata was full of snow. We were completely
surrounded by snow in 7 ft. tall. |
 |
| While they prepared to scoop Koi,I was
checking the quality | Once I stepped in
his greenhouse, it was very steamy and warm. I was even swetting.
The Koi are all healthy and active.
Becasue Mr. Sakai bred
Koi relatively late last year around 7/20-8/20, Koi are not big
enough for him to tell the sex, he said. But he believes the
harvests of Tosasi* are good. He was right. Carefully examining the
school of Tosai, I found them very good
selections. |
 |
| Koi that I purechased this
time | Mr. Sakai's wife and son are the
main players in culling fries. He does not sort Sanke by himself
until Koi grow this size.
The key of Tosai selection is Hi
pattern. He does not pay as much attention to Sumi as to Hi pattern.
In selecting Kohaku, he puts good Kiwa* as a
priority. |
 |
| Another group of Sanke I
purchased | Koi on the picture are his
Taisho Sanshoku. Fine and lacquer quality Sumi are
beautiful.
To my surprise, the first variety he created was
"Aigoromo." He did it when he was still in junior high school. At
the time, Aigoromo variety was out of the breeding process of
Kohaku. Ai* was gradually coming up on Hi plate as Kohaku ages about
3 years old. He crossed Aigoromo with Aigoromo so that they can have
Ai from the age of Tosai. |
 |
| Mr.Toshiyuki Sakai, President of
Matsunosuke | It took him 4 years to
complete it. In his junior highschool days, he worked so hard to
repeat crossbreeding that Aigoromo can have Ai from Tosai. "I
still remember the moment of the acomplishment. I was so happy," he
said. This hardwork and never-giviup attitudeare clearly the source
of his quality Taisho Sanke, the famous brand, "Matsunosuke
Sanke." |
