SUPAVERM

We have been working hard to maintain the price as reasonable as possible. Unfortunately due to the recent price increase from the vendor, we are afraid we must increase our prices of Supaverm.

It will be $27-> $31 for $150 ml and $78 -> $95 for 520ml

But we will hold our prices LOW until the end of this special sale period.  It has a long shelf life. So it is good to have it in stock for future use. Or even if you have one in stock, it may be good to have another one at these prices.  I hope you take advantage of this special.

Isa Koi Farm
Everybody knows Isa Koi Farm.
His Showa has been winning so many awards at Koi shows. The quality makes his Koi one of the most wanted among Koi hobbyists.
One of the reasons for his high quality Showa is defenitly derived from the parental Koi. His parental Koi are the top level in the industry. It is said that it worth for US$40,000 or 50,000
Of course, the best quality parents are not the only reason. His experience, skill and very strict culling makes the very best use of the parantal Koi

In the last news letter, I showed you his spawning activity in June. I visited him again on August 10 to check how those fry are doing after 70 days?

Pond deep frying

Ikeage (pulling fry from a mud pond)

It was a little cool in the early morning when they start pulling fry from a mud pond about 1/4 acre wide. .
For Koi breeders, it is absolutely important to start working very early in the morning in order to avoid the hot daytime. It is not for them, but for Koi fry. They need to finish culling before the fries are worn out by heat.
People at Isa Koi Farm have started the work even before dawn.
The sortig hosue

The sortig house

They made a temporary sorting place on the pond.
It may sound too natural but very important that they sort them by the pond and return them to the same pond. This way, fry have to experience no change in water quality and thus, there is no burdon to them.
The fry was born 70days after

70 days old fry

After 70 days, they become about 6cm (2 in.) on average.
Because breeding technology is high, so the size of the Koi is prepared properly.

Sorting the fry

Mr. Isa has been doing this for 40 years. So he is very fast in sorting Koi. I wish I could show you  how fast he is!
I counted to check how selective he is. He chose only 8 out of 65 fry!. That is just 12%.
It is this careful selection that maintains the status and brand of Isa Showa.
These Koi are born in June, 2002. These Koi grew up so big and more beautiful.
October, 2002.

I took the left picture in December, 2002.
Because Niigata has a huge snowfall in winter, he brings all the selected Tosai into the greenhouse. Those fries will be raised here until Spring comes.
